Juggling is for clowns! Prioritizing is for women!

Trying to not lose my mind as I center myself amongst chaos…

“Mommy! Mommy, ‘lijah won’t give me a popsicle!” yells the girl.

“Mommy, ‘bella is messing up my room!” screams the boy.

When will it stop! Please, oh please, make it stop!

damn

Okay, now that I got that out… time to get on trekking. Dinner is due and not quite done. Homework has to be checked, might not be finished and clothes are waiting to be hung. A mothers job is never done and I am not attempting to do it all either.

Many times we put so much pressure on ourselves to be the perfect mom, wife, friend, etc., that we end up stressed and dropping the ball. Juggling is for clowns! Prioritizing is for women!

Our self-esteem ends up damaged when we can’t live up to the expectations we set for ourselves or those that we allow others to place on us. You are HUMAN! Therefore, you can’t be expected to work like an octopus. Being able to maintain a balance in your life is ideal for good mental health. If you are stretched too thin, you will be of no use to those who are looking for your support and care.

Love yourselves enough to place some lower prioritizing tasks on the back burner. If your life won’t fall apart if you put off organizing the kids closets, matching socks, fluffing pillows, dusting the blinds and stocking the 2 ply, then relax and spend some much needed time being mindful of your family. I am not saying to procrastinate to the point that you never get things done. I am suggesting a timeframe in which you can still accomplish those tasks but without the needed pressure of doing it all at once.

Here is a list of awesome things you can do to enjoy all of life’s little moments:

  1.  Kiss your love like there is no tomorrow…
  2. Hug your children until they let go…
  3. Sit quietly noticing your breathing…
  4. Grab a book you have been meaning to check out and spend a day reading…(I love everything Eric Jerome Dickey!)
  5. Stop to appreciate the sun if you are fortunate enough to not be in NY right now…lmbo, sorry NY family!
  6. Buy yourself something you love…perfume, chocolate, workout gear!
  7. Have sex…and a lot of it!
  8. Did someone say girls night out!?!
  9. Dance in the car like you own that b*&#@ even if you are leasing it!
  10. Listen to your favorite song no matter how ratchet! (In my current rotation…69 Boyz, Luke, Freak Nasty, Juvenile and Adam Levine…no judgment!)

Just enjoy your life the best way you know how, free of judgment, ridicule and limiting beliefs!
